in the City, Eridan's been granted the power to recognize the hopes of others. this could be anything from someone hoping they get a letter in the mail to wanting their neighbor's wife to be away that evening so they can beat in her husband's skull with a crowbar. it could also extend to dreams, but only ones the individual considers having a good chance of happening - basically, if they can hope their dream comes true someday, then Eridan can see it. (it also requires he hear the voice or see the face of the target to work.)
as a foreword, Eridan rarely exercises this power at current - and even when he does, he usually isn't inclined to share the results for kicks. in fact, you could consider it more of a possible avenue to add something extra to a thread, or a plot point if you want something they're hiding to reach someone they may not necessarily want it to!
this power is opt-in; even if you give me the go-ahead here, I'll always ask before he uses it on your character, and always ask before he shares the results with anyone else.

if so, what would he see? "I hope I don't die" is the big one! followed by "I hope [close cr] doesn't die // stops dying already // doesn't port out," "I hope I don't lose my other eye," and "I hope nobody does something stupid on the network today."
She is pretty much in a constant state of disappointment on the last one.

the main ones are "become duel champion" and "keep astral/my friends safe"
but in general it's just a constant tumble of in-the-moment hopes and challenges
his whole force of personality runs on hope and it's been described as "sun-like" in intensity so uh have fun hating the guy feferi's always hanging out with i guess

if so, what would he see? Susan hopes her life was a fairy tale in both the literal and figurative, 'American dream' sense. She envisions herself as a princess with a dashing knight or handsome prince to come to her rescue, which stems from her childhood escapist fantasies while also dreaming of moving into suburbia, buying a McMansion, having 2.5 kids, a husband, a dog, etc. Her family is the central focus of both of these fantasies, with members of the FF present in one form or another.

if so, what would he see? if he could see in, the major one is "i hope i never become penance ever again". along with a lot of fairly banal ones about clothes and money, and some not as banal ones about her teammates not dying. and buried deep is a faint hope that she and jamie could actually have a functional thing sometime because she still likes the dude.

if so, what would he see? i hope i succeed. i hope i'm accepted and the people i love don't leave me or get hurt. i hope i don't screw everything up. most of it is along those lines alskdhf uh there are also some hopes related to not dying and somewhere she refuses to acknowledge it existing is the hope that one day she gets to find the person who tortured her and hurt them. badly.
she also has lighthearted everyday hopes like oh i hope my coffee doesn't suck and i hope the subway is on time etc. etc.

if so, what would he see? i hope i don't lose control of myself is the biggest one. a lot of hopes related to schoolwork and doing it well, because she likes school and stuff going well there. tobias not getting ported out and his general safety is a big one, and the same for cassie and collette.
